Bad Breath

Treatment for bad breath, or halitosis; a term for unpleasant odor exhaled in breathing, especially when it is noticeable.

Cosmetic dentistry is a great help in bad breath by removing tartar and plague, where odor-causing bacteria thrive.

  • Use ¼ teaspoon grounded cinnamon in 1 cup warm water as mouth freshener or gargle to relief bad breath.
  • Mix 1 teaspoon honey and 1 teaspoon powdered cinnamon in 1 cup hot water. Cool. Gargle the mixture first thing in the morning to have fresh breath throughout the day.
  • Drink lemon juice with honey added 2-3x daily.
  • Chew on a clove every day. Alternatively, use clove as a gargle 2 - 3x daily by steeping 3 whole or ¼ teaspoon grounded cloves in 1 cup hot water for 20 minutes. Stir and strain.
  • Gargle with saltwater (1 glass warm water with 2 - 3 pinches of salt added).
  • Gargle, then drink 1 teaspoon lime juice in 1 cup warm water. Repeat 2 - 3x.
  • Chew on a few uncooked (and cleaned) rice.
  • Suck on a cinnamon stick.
  • Pound slightly a thumb-sized ginger and boil in 3 glasses water. Let cool. Drink this ginger tea after meals 2x a day for 3 days.
  • Drink a mixture of 1 teaspoon each cardamom, cinnamon and bay leaves in 1 cup water.
