  • Apply honey freely over burns. It cools, removes pain and helps in fast healing without scarring. Apart from being a salve and antibiotic, bacteria cannot live in honey.
  • Place potato slices on the burns for relief.
  • Use something cold on the burns immediately, like ice or cold water, after which apply a paste of 1 tablespoon aloe vera gel and ΒΌ teaspoon each sandalwood and turmeric to sooth and heal the burn.
  • For a first degree burn, soak the area in whole milk for about 15 minutes, or soak a cloth in milk and apply to the area. Re-apply every few hours to relieve the pain.
  • Paste aloe vera gel over the area, or mix 1 teaspoon each aloe vera gel and turmeric and apply as paste.
  • Apply the juice of blueberries, or ginger juice.
  • Apply a combination of normal saline and olive oil.
  • To remove pain and reduce blister and scarring, rub some mustard on the area. This is for minor burns.
  • To prevent infection, and when blistered, apply paste or ointment made out of onion.
  • For blistered skin, slice a peeled potato and place it on the burns. Dip bandage cloth in coconut oil and wrap over the sliced potato. Leave on until the pain lessens. Do this repeatedly until condition improves.
  • Pound a banana to make paste for the burns.
