Chilblain

Chilblain is inflammation or injury caused by cold. It is similar to frostbite, but without the freezing of tissue beneath the skin.

  • Rub a slice of lemon dipped in coarse sea salt on unbroken affected skin.
  • Rub with a cut onion dipped in salt on the chilblain 2x daily.
  • To speed up healing, apply aloe vera gel on the chilblain.
  • To speed up healing of chilblain, take rose hip tea for the vitamin C, or take foods rich in vitamin C or in supplement form.
  • Drink 1 teaspoon horsetail tea in 1 cup boiling water 3x daily.
  • Eat ginger, or drink ginger tea to stimulate circulation and help blood flow to the surface.

Cold Hands and Feet

  • Roast over a fire 7 cloves of garlic and a thumb-sized ginger until yellowed. Cut the ginger into 7 pieces and take one of each every day.
  • Drink spinach juice for cold feet.
  • Eat vitamin E foods: (avocadoes, wheat germ), niacin (brown rice, milk, poultry) and vitamin C foods to stimulate the circulation and relieve cold feet.
