Cystitis
Cystitis is inflammation of the bladder
- At the onset of acute cystitis, stop taking solid food immediately to concentrate the biochemical
energies needed to eliminating toxins and promote healing from digesting and metabolizing foods. Fast for 3-4 days on plain water or tender coconut
water if there is fever, and take raw vegetable juices,
especially carrot juice diluted with water every 2-3 hours if there is no fever. Rest and keep warm, relief
cystitis pain by applying to the abdomen a hot towel wrung out in hot water and covering it with a dry
towel to retain the heat. Apply olive oil if the skin reddens. After the fast, take to sub-acid fruits
(apples, grapes, pears, peaches, melon) 3-4x daily, for 2-3 days after which adopt a well-balanced diet of
seeds, nuts, grains, vegetables and fruits. Avoid refined carbohydrates, salt (as salt is already raised n
kidney troubles), and exclude meat, fish and poultry which produce uric acid and worsens cystitis.
- For chronic cystitis, adopt the following diet to cleanse the blood and other tissues while keeping to
an optimum intake of rich source of natural vitamins and minerals in balanced proportions. Upon rising
in the morning, drink a glass of apple juice or carrot juice without sugar. Fresh fruits (apple, pear,
grapes, melon, peach and pineapple), 1 glass buttermilk with a little honey may be taken for breakfast. At
mid-morning, drink tender coconut water. For lunch, eat raw vegetables such as carrot, beetroot and
cabbage, mixed with curd and 1 tablespoon honey. At mid-afternoon, drink 1 cup grape juice (unsweetened). A
salad of green leafy vegetables and a fresh fruit,
preferably a portion of melon sweetened with 1 teaspoon honey may be taken. At bedtime, drink 1 glass of
the juices carrot mixed with beetroot. Thereafter adopt a well-balanced diet of seed, nuts, grains,
vegetables and fruits. Occasionally fast on vegetables only, or tender coconut water, or raw vegetable
juices for 1-2 days every month.
