Gout 2

Gout is an inflammation caused by excess uric acids in the body, forming crystalline deposits leading to pain and swelling, mostly in joints.

  • For gout treatment, fast on orange juice and water for 5-7 days. If the condition worsen, this is due to uric acid dissolving and being eliminated in the blood stream the initial stages of fasting. Continual fasting will however, clear gout. For severe cases of gout, fast a shorter 3-4 days rather than a long one. After the fast and symptoms clear, adopt an all-fruit diet for a further 3-4 days, taking juicy fruits 3x a day: apples, grapes, pears, peaches, oranges and pineapple. After the all-fruit diet, take for breakfast fruits such as apples, apricot, figs, mangoes, oranges, whole wheat bread and milk or butter-milk. For lunch : Steamed vegetables such as beets, cabbage, carrots, celery, lettuce, squash, turnips, tomatoes, water-cress and potatoes, wholemeal bread, cottage cheese and butter-milk. For dinner : Sprouts such as alfalfa and mung beans, medium-sized salad of raw vegetables (eg. carrots, cabbage, tomatoes), whole wheat bread and butter.
  • Take 15-25 fresh cherries a day, then reduce to 10 daily to control gout.
  • Drink a combination of 300ml carrot juice and 100ml each beet and cucumber juices.
  • Take 150ml of French or string beans, or raw potato or pineapple juices.
  • To protect against gout, take foods high in potassium such as potatoes, bananas, leafy green vegetables, beans and raw vegetable juices are protective against gout.
  • Eat apples, they neutralize the uric acid that cause rheumatism or gout. Boil apples and apply to the gout areas as paste.
  • Ground some fenugreek seeds and apply the powder to gout pain.
  • Eat 8-9 bananas only everyday for 3-4 days.
  • Mix 10 oz. carrot juice and 3 oz. each beet and cucumber juices. Drink 2 - 4 cups daily.
  • Drink 2 cups daily a mixture of 4 oz. parsley juice with 12 oz. carrot juice.
  • Drink a mixture of 1:1 celery and carrot juices.
  • Eat 1 cup of strawberries with every meal to neutralize the uric acid and bring gout relief.

For rheumatic or goutic twinges:

  • Grate 2 thumb-sized galangal, mix with a little warm water and squeeze for its juice. Strain, then add 1 whole egg. Blend well before drinking the mixture 2x a week.
  • Pound lemongrass leaves to make paste, then apply on the painful joints.
