Hair tonic, hair nourisher

  • Olive oil serves as hair tonic before bedtime and wash it the next morning. It makes for healthy hair, shinier and stronger hair. Also adds hair luster.
  • Mix some curd with water, or massage curd straight onto the hair and hair roots. Leave for 15 minutes, then wash.
  • Apply a paste of fenugreek leaves over the scalp regularly before showering. It lengthens and preserves the natural hair coloring, and keeps hair silky-soft.
  • Mix 2 teaspoons each olive oil and fenugreek seeds, 2 whole eggs and 4 bananas. Mash the bananas and blend all ingredients well. Apply to the hair and leave ½ hour. Then shampoo.
  • For hair texture softener, apply sesame oil on the hair at bedtime. Shampoo it off the next morning and towel-dry. Then apply baby or olive oil on the hair and comb it through for straight hair. For curly hair, wait for a few minutes before combing to prevent hair splitting or breaking off.
  • Eat a handful of sesame seeds (for its calcium and magnesium content) every morning to provide hair nourishment.
  • Take ½ cup coconut water daily.
  • Comb the hair gently in opposite directions to help improve circulation at the roots and make hair healthy.
  • To nourish the scalp, grind 2 handfuls henna leaves with a little water till fine and apply on the scalp and hair. Wrap the head with a plastic cover and leave for 3 - 5 hours. Shampoo, and towel dry.
  • Mix 1 egg-yolk and 1 cup vegetable oil. Blend well. Apply to the hair and leave for a minute. Rinse off with warm water that has been added with lime juice.
