Heartburn

Heartburn is pain or burning discomfort in the chest caused by stomach acid flowing back into the esophagus, occuring mostly after eating.

  • Drink warm ginger tea after meals to prevent heartburn and for immediate heartburn relief.
  • For immediate heatburn relief, take 2 tablespoons aloe vera gel with a pinch of baking soda, or aloe vera juice.
  • Eat several almonds to reduce heartburn symptoms.
  • Two teaspoons cider vinegar and 2 teaspoons honey to be taken before meals to prevent heartburn from forming.
  • Drink chamomile tea after meals to prevent heartburn.
  • Add 1 tablespoon grounded mint leaves to 1 cup water. Drink it 2-3x a day.
  • Eat before meals a few strips of a cut lemon (cut the lemon into strips) dipped in salt, or lemon rind, to prevent heartburn.
  • Eat bananas for heartburn relief.
  • At the onset of heartburn, drink a large cup of water to reduce it.
  • Use turmeric in cooking, or in capsule form to prevent heartburn.
  • Sip slowly a glass of water with a few drops of clove oil added.
  • Take 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger root.
  • Take a mixture of 1 cup papaya juice, 1 teaspoon organic sugar and 2 pinches cardamom.
  • Blend 2-3 peeled and washed potato in the grinder and take the juice immediately.
  • Add ½ teaspoon baking soda to ½ glass water and drink ½ teaspoon of the mixture every 2 hours until heartburn problem ceases. Do not exceed 4 teaspoons or 8 times.
  • Avoid smoking immediately before or while eating, alcohol with food, gas-forming foods, chewing gum before meals to prevent heartburn from forming. Also avoid coffee and chocolate - caffeine generally so as to not aggravate heartburn.
