Hypoglycemia
Hypoglycemia is reduced blood sugar in the blood caused by too little sugar or too much
insulin.
-
For hypoglycemia treatment, consume mainly grains (cooked cereals), raw seeds and nuts, vegetable
oils and avoid adopting a high animal protein diet which only controls hypoglycemia temporarily, but
have adverse side-effects to the heart, kidney and arteries. Raw nuts and seeds such as pumpkin or
sunflower seeds or fresh milk, butter milk or fruit juices can be taken between meals. Eat a few small
meals a day instead of three large ones.
-
Avoid completely refined and processed foods, white sugar and its products , white flour and its
products, coffee, soft drinks, alcohol. Reduce salt as too much of it causes blood sugar to drop
from the loss of potassium, aggravating hypoglycemia.
-
Consume vegetables such as asparagus, beets, beans, baked potatoes, carrots, cucumbers, egg-plants,
kale, lettuce, peas, radishes, spinach, tomatoes, and fruits such as apples, apricots, berries,
peaches, and pineapples with limited amounts of citrus
fruits.
-
Eat foods rich in the following vitamins: vitamin C, E, B-complex. Vitamins C and B increase sugar and
carbohydrates tolerance and help normalize sugar metabolism. Weak adrenals associated with
hypoglycemics can be helped with pantothenic acid and vitamin B6 which help to build up the adrenals
weakened by hypoglycemia.
-
Other measures : Get plenty of quality rest, engage in meditative or relaxation exercises to avoid
anxiety and nervous strain,
and keeping in peace of mind.
